| Tegan and Sara – Someday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
From the album: They yell speak up. I fill these pages like I fill those spaces with my lies. They yell step down, a crowd’s not worth this and love’s not worthless, you’ve got to step up stranger. Might paint something I might want to hang here someday. Might write something I might want to say to you some day. Might do something I’d be proud of someday. Mark my words, I might be something someday. They yell right on, a class act president you are my boss, I am confident in your eyes. They yell move up, don’t stand back here and wait like an animal at a farmer's gate am I food or am I free? So speak up this is your last chance my friend, roll the windows down and take me in. Reach out say what you’re really about. Are you coming here or not, are you coming out? I don’t want to know that you don’t want me. I don’t want to know what you do without me. I don’t want to know what I’ll be without you, I don’t wanna know. |

| Tegan and Sara – The Cure Lyrics | 16 years ago |
These are copied and pasted from the album: Begging like you might take order in your own hands. I stare, seems like I don’t care, drop a chance in your hands then. I know that bad’s got to fix itself, correct over time. And I know ‘cause I’ve got the cure, I’ve got a cure for your crimes. All I dreamed up, all that seemed like luck seems silly to you now. All I said to you, all I did for you seems so silly to me now. Screaming like no one might call the cops and arrest you this time. Standing back against my building’s back door, you’re hoping for a ride. I know the world’s been mean to you, I’ve got a cure hold tight. I know the world’s not fair to you I’ve got a cure for its crimes. (Chorus) Oh oh when you say it, so so slowly to me, oh oh well I keep going, oh no I ran while knowing, no no I know you need it, so so I need it too and oh oh I must keep going, so you must too. I’ve got a cure I’ve got the cure for you. (Chorus) |

| Black Lab – Weightless Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I mean, I might be way off, but I understood this song to be about a woman the singer loves committing suicide. "Hanging weightless in the air, Wind and sunlight in your hair," -- this imagery reminded me of an angel, like he sees her in that way, now that she's gone. "Lost forever, Lost before your time" -- meaning she killed herself at an early age. "Broken glass, A bleeding wrist" -- I heard this as she slit her wrists. And then, the song goes on to discuss blame and such. I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy. |
