| Mirah – Generosity Lyrics

The end of a relationship, that was once beautiful, then "remained sour"
"I gave you all my energy/ and you took it without thanks"
I can completely relate to this, almost exactly; giving someone every fiber of energy until I was dried out.
Instrumentals rock on this song. |

This song roxors my boxers, it's hopeful, and just really beautiful. Mayhaps it's just talking about the flow of life, "lingering, not without purpose". |

| The Blow – The Long List of Girls Lyrics

It's pretty self-explanatory, the singer loves this guy, and also acknowledges that there are a lot of girl smitten with him. "Watch where you point with that true love/ fair: aim it up above/ the sky is the only target wide enough to take it" |

The lyrics are pretty sad, with such an up-beat tune. I love the metaphor of the carburetor singing, it's beautiful. |

| Basia Bulat – I Was A Daughter Lyrics

"We gave our hearts away before we knew what they were"
Perfect recap of falling hard into a new love.
"What a pretty fall
Didn't even know"
It's a little melancholy, but it's beautiful. |

My best friend lived this song for a year and a half, it's pretty bizarre to hear it all over. |

| CocoRosie – Sunshine Lyrics

I know that when Sierra was a teen she moved around a lot... both girls did respectively, maybe it's a simple ode to constant alienation from significant friendships or any relationships with others during their earlier years.
I dunno, just a thought.
B-e-a-utiful song though, it makes me happy and sad at the same time :) |

| Gregory and the Hawk – A Wish Lyrics

I can very much relate to this, a lot of girls can, a mixture of insecurities (I wish to feel smaller under your sheets; hands) and a guy's penis that controls his feelings for her. She conveys this message so eloquently...it really is profound. |

Not just TV, but media everywhere, oppression is apparent through television, radio, school systems, cultural norms, drugs. Gwen says she knows "of others with a box as their home". I don't think it can all be about TV, everyone's got a box :) |
