actually the song IS about Buddy ending his long term relationship with his girlfriend of four years, and yellow angels IS another part of the song but it is NOT about Buddy's drunk driving after the breakup, it's more so about him realizing that if he doesn't start living his life he will have lived a life that he never wanted, which is an empty one. Four Years just describes the breakup its self, and the reasons on why he actually decided to leave the one person he loved. "Life Is Not A Waiting Room" is a walk through description of Buddy's life thus far. Existing of the impact his father had on him, even though he wasn't around, to the unhappiness that the past years of failure and obsticals have brought him, back to the point of the breakup between him and his girlfriend, and coming to the realization that he needs to live his life, and stop giving up. A lot of the comments that people are leaving are close but not quite accurate, i think you guys should look a little bit below the surface of the senses fail lyrics to fully understand the meanings, and possibly do a background check on Buddy Nielsen.
