It seems like the guy is in love with the girl although the girl is not returning the feels back. Throughout the song, they sleep together but the girl regrets it... "I woke up and you were gone" - the girl is not next to him, a sign that she doesn't feel the same when they slept together the night before, "I found your clothes lining the hall" and "I freaked out, you hid away". "I saw the light of a new day" The guy begins to have feelings for her. The chorus just shows how he feels about her. "and maybe i was wrong"- since she's not returning her feelings, he's doubting how he rushed in his feelings to fast.
