n3bulous could be right. It's just an idea, but this song reminds me of my MDMA experience. "Suddenly my eyes are open, everything comes into focus, we are all illuminated.." "Swing me these sorrows and try delusion for a while, it's such a beatiful night." It's very close to how I've felt each of the two times I was 'rolling' with my friends & boyfriend. Eyes wide open, focused mind, and like I was full of light. No sorrow, no pain, no worries. Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt. But unfortunately, it was just an illusion. "You've got to lose inhibition" - it's exactly what you lose on MDMA. "Romance your ego for a while" - might refer to the loosened ego feeling. If you listen to the song from this perspective, I believe everything else is self-explanatory. Anyway, this is just how I decided to understand it. It's a truly beautiful song, no matter what it really means. |
