I'm not a big fan of Shakira, but i LOVE the acoustic version of this song. My Spanish's not very good, but from what i gather it's about being som deeply in love it's both pleasurable and painful. "Despues de ti/ La pared" to me means "Since you (came into my life), the wall" "The wall" protects and supports. It's something you can rely on. "No me faltes nunca". Does it mean "You never fail (me)", or "Don't ever leave me"? Or could it mean both? "Debajo el asfalto/ Y mas abajo estarÃa yo" I understand to mean "Underneath the asphalt and further down would I be", not neccessarily dead and buried, but in such a low, dark place mentally that you might never again be joyful should this person leave. Does that make sense? |
