This song generalizes America. Its an advertisement to move here. We ve got everything you want all for a 20 especially young skinny girls. If you have money and influence hence the mayor reference, nobody will ever say a thing. Thats all it takes is money and everybody turns a blind eye here at the Western World (USA) |

| David Gilmour – I Can't Breathe Anymore Lyrics
| 14 years ago
|
This song brings chills. Live life with strong conviction. When its over its over thats why he cannot breathe anymore. Life has ended but as people we never see that happening until it actually does.
Its almost like he is on the floor dying and he sees his body as he hovers over it.
"With or without God on his side" to me this line says this person did what he did and is ready to except judgement. |

| Peter Gabriel – Don't Give Up Lyrics
|
This website is great. After reading these comments it truly is about unemployment. The main character feels hopeless probably has responsibility in his life like a family and is truly lost to the point that he contemplates suicide but the chorus is his conscience, the holy spirit, an angel telling him to keep going on.
The line " we don't need much of anything " is very christian/buddist philosophy. |

| Peter Gabriel – Don't Give Up Lyrics

I believe that what makes an amazing artist is the ability to write about a topic or an issue but write in such a way that any reader can relate it to their life. All lyrics have meaning. Even Pavement and The Pixies lyrics are meaningful or trying to get across a point. Its just how each of us interpret those lyrics.

| David Gilmour – All Lovers Are Deranged Lyrics
| 15 years ago
|
Simply put love is a gamble hence lovers are deranged to be part of this gamble. There is no perfect love. I love the lines
You know that you don't really fall in love
Unless you're seventeen
The break of day will make your spirits fly
But you can't know what it means
Unless you're seventeen.
Love is perfect when your young because of puberty and lack of responsibility. Its exciting. But when you see and hear the same person for 20+ years it gets old and people fight more. |

agreed. I think this album about face focuses on life and the decisions that are made by man from the most powerful to the simple.
Its not making life to be mundane. It is extremly positive in many aspects. Its just saying to live life but beware of the consequences of your actions. |

| David Gilmour – Short And Sweet Lyrics
|
It about life and how short and sweet it is. But you have to carve your path and pray that morally at the end when you approach the gates of heaven you are let in even though you are aware of what you did in life with the gift of freewill.
It ends positivly that with every sunrise and sunset the day will bring quality from us and the future generations to come at the very least. |

It is an awsome song. Its about living on the streets and having to fend for yourself a theme that seems to be common in Who songs. Its about finding a place to sleep when your on the street and all the problems that its possible to come across. Its about being tough. The narrator is saying that don't talk shit until you here my story of woe. I just don't understand the bear's in there line. |
