First off, this song rocks.
Second, I think that that your meaning is pretty solid. A guy and a girl break up, then the guy realizes that it was a huge mistake and they should be together still. So, he comes back. The girl takes him back, but after that I think the meaning gets a little hazy... I think the guy leaves again, but I'm not sure why. "Minutes feel like hours, hours like days" might mean that he got tired of the relationship? What I prefer to believe is that he had to leave, not that he wanted to, but that it was necessary. So the girl asks when she'll see him again, and I think that the guy is hoping to be able to return but doesn't know when/if that will be possible... Just throwing that out there...

Yeah I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head... except I'm not sure I agree with your interpretation of "IF" and "MAYBE." I think that instead of having faith in something that won't happen, it is something less definite; I think it's less of a giving up on the possibility and more of a wishful thinking/hopeful kind of situation. |
