| This reminds me of my best friend and I, sitting on the couch, watching whatever's on TV and talking about life and love and things that I don't feel comfortable discussing with anybody else. It's not about what's going on around us (the TV, drinks, food are just background noise). It's about the conversation and the advice we get from each other that helps us to conquer fears - whether it be about relationships, as it appears in this song, or whatever else. | |

I don't think this song is sad or that the girl is compromising her freedom to stop exploring her options. There are nice interpretations to the contrary. However, it seems obvious that she was exploring/discovering her options (islands), but was herself discovered by somebody who rocked her world. This somebody was right under her nose. In turn there was no need for her to continue exploring. At that point, there was no turning back, and romantic love consumed her. There was a feeling that even if the relationship may fail, the desire to see it through was prevailent. And that's where the story begins, so-to-speak. |

I love this song. I think it can be taken from either the dog's or owner's perspective if you want to interpret it that way. It can simply be a love/abandonment song as well - and a kinky one at that. Although I have seen Amorres Perros (ok, there's dog fighting), and heard Dog:God, the beauty of music and lyrics is that they can be interpretted in a many number of ways regardless of the intended meaning. It's an obvious interchangable metaphor at least. These are pretty simple lyrics I think. I lived in Brasil for three months and listened to quite a few artists that are amazing. I really like the sound of this song, and his delivery is just smooth!
