Bright Eyes – Poison Oak Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is so sad, I can't even describe it. These are some of the best lyrics I've ever heard, hands down.

Panic! at the Disco – Mad As Rabbits Lyrics 16 years ago
"Don't you remember when I was a bird
and you were a map?"

This line always makes me think of the play El Publico by Federico Garcia Lorca, there's a line that goes something like "Romeo could be a bird and Juliet could be a stone. Romeo could be a grain of sand and Juliet could be a map."
That's probably completely unrelated, but there are enough obscure references in this song that it's not totally unreasonable.

I don't get why everyone is hating on this album. I was never a big fan of Fever but Pretty, Odd is one of my favorite albums. It's just so...happy. And the lyrics have beautiful imagery, although I can never understand what exactly they're supposed to mean. Maybe it's just because I'm not an emo kid and I'm not impressed by dark lyrics and blaring guitars, but I really thought the band matured musically in their second album, instead of "selling out" or whatever

Radiohead – Exit Music (For a Film) Lyrics 16 years ago
Ahh, this song gives me chills. It made me cry the first time I heard it. If the thing about the black box is true...that explains why it's so chilling and scary and...sort of angry.
There are a lot of interesting interpretations of this song....but really, it's just about Romeo and Juliet. Not saying the other interpretations are wrong, just don't look too far into it.

Ben Folds – Learn To Live With What You Are Lyrics 16 years ago
The way I see this song, it's talking about someone who keeps waiting for something to happen to them that will change them into what they want to become, and everything will all make sense. But that's not the way things are, there won't be a moment of truth like that, you'll always be yourself so you should just accept it.
It's really motivating, in a...depressing sort of way.

Mika – Good Gone Girl Lyrics 16 years ago
First off, these lyrics are completely wrong. According to the album insert:

Could you believe, the same old story
Yeah, it never bores me, though I've heard it all before
Her name was Georgia, and she was gorgeous
When she adored ya the whole room would get to know

Like a movie that was filled with lust
Coming at you with a double D bust
At the bed of a wounded soldier
In a rush cause she's getting older

Hanging out in the fancy bars
With the boys who can play guitar
Listen up, cause I've got to warn ya
She's gonna make it out in California

Hey you, what's a good girl like you
Doing in this crazy world
Where's the good gone girl
Dance, dance to the life you wanted
When you were only seventeen
With your good girl dream

Ooooo....good gone girl

Could you believe, the same old phonies
Those painted ponies, that you've ridden all before
Her name was April, but she was hateful
Enough to make you want to run right out the door

I can tell you what you want the most
Hanging out for the champagne toast
When the end of the night gets tricky
Don't you know that beggars can't be picky
Looking out for a man who's golden
Doesn't matter if he's old, he's rolling
Coming at you like a desperate hunter
Sugar daddy, he's just a munter

Hey you, what's a good girl like you
Doing in this crazy world
Where's the good gone girl
Dance, dance to the life you wanted
When you were only seventeen
With your good girl dream
(x2)

Ooooo....good gone girl
(x7

She's walking around all over town
Needs somebody to notice, but the goodness gets her down
She's happy to choose somebody to use
Good gone girl she's got nothing left to loose
(x3)

I think this is about a nice girl who moves out to California in hopes of becoming a star, but she fails and turns into a gold digger type.

Mika – Lover Boy Lyrics 16 years ago
I LOVE this song. There's a new version as a bonus track on The Boy Who Knew Too Much, and it's SO much better than the demo...I don't know why it wasn't put on the actual album.
