Thanks for clearing that up for me i guess haha he also said the summary of the song was: "you're not who loves you, you are who you love". so i listened and listened and listened to the song and finally dissected it lol. First of all, the title "Head first slide into cooperstown on a bad bet." That came from the baseball player Pete Rose and his gambling... idk much about that yet but i'll read about it. The whole song is about a man who has a thing for a woman who is married but her husband doesn't really acknowledge their marriage. Yes, that's right people... it's not about Pete wentz or the band. This whole cd is not supposed to be autobiographical is what they said (except for i don't care.) Now for the lyrics... When he says "Head like a steel trap, wish I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't" a steel trap is hard to get away from, right? so he's talking about the guy who's experiencing a lot of regrets hence the "wish i didn't etc." "I don't just want to be a footnote in someone else's happiness" means that the person just doesn't want to correct the problem, he wants to be in a relationship with the woman. "does your husband know the way that the sunshine gleams from your wedding band?" That's the guy asking her basically if her husband acknowledges his relationship with his wife (which he doesn't.) "Does he know the way, does he know the way of the crickets that would convince me to call it a night?" means that at night time, the only thing putting him to sleep is the crickets because it's so quiet in his house because he's lonely. |

| Fall Out Boy – Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes Lyrics

Okay i pretty much dissected this song. First of all, the title "Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes". That name came from the show The Flintstones. It was a club/bar that Fred and Barney went to, only theirs was called the LOYAL order of water buffaloes. Pete just named it the DISloyal Order of Water Buffaloes because it's a club that he and his friends belong to. The whole song is about people in this country going out and drinking their problems away (AMAZING song btw.). Now for the lyrics... "Fell outta bed
Butterfly bandage but don't worry. You'll never remember, your head is far too blurry" <-- that part is talking about a person who's experiencing a hangover lol. and when he says "what a match, I'm half-doomed and you're semi sweet." he's talking about the alcoholic drink. "detox just to retox" is talking about how a lot of people just drink like a bottle of water or something to get sober just to go back out again and drink. Great song. Great song. |
