| it is reeeeally dirty, but the german version isn't nearly as bad. i don't know how it got translated so differently. my dad always asks me why my cheeks turn red when i listen to my ipod- 9 times out of ten it's because of this song XD | |
| Tokio Hotel – Automatisch Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Lyric faults aside, I am absolutely in love with this song. It reminds me of why I broke up with my boyfriend. It's about how one (or both) person/people in a relationship don't feel how they did when the relationship first started. It's about how things become monotonous and routine(hence, automatisch); how there seems to be no real emotion behind their actions. | |
| Tokio Hotel – 1000 oceans Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is about a long distance relationship where both have to keep their faith that one day they will be together again. The "please don't drift away from me" is more like a plead to not let the relationship fall apart because of the distance between them. Beautiful song. | |

| A Perfect Circle – 3 Libras Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is sooo beautiful, and makes me cry everytime I hear it. About a year or two ago, I had been dating someone and the relationship got really serious. Then I found out that his brother, who was my bestfriend, had fallen in love with me. He told me by singing this song--corny i know, but it crushed me. Now everytime I hear this song, all I can see is the tears in his eyes as he played his guitar and sang this to me. | |
| Elisa – Dancing Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think this is about a girl who is afraid to fall in love (maybe she has problems with trust), but who decides to take the oppertunity to "dance" with someone. As the song progresses, she finally just lets go and becomes completely dependent on him. She is still wary of the fact that this could end in heartbreak, but is so caught up in her new found love that nothing else matters. | |

this will probably be a lot longer than it has to be, but i'm going to write it anyway :P i think some parts of the song refer to the biblical samson, but more in a metaphorical way than anything. I think it's more about a relationship she had in the past. You are my sweetest downfall (the relationship fell through, but she has no regrets) I loved you first, I loved you first (she feels as if she fell for him long before he ever expressed the same feelings) beneath the sheets of paper lies my truth (I think "sheets of paper" is being used to describe the layers of one's personality; once you get to the bottom you find their true feelings) I have to go, I have to go (she had to leave him-- break up? or maybe just separation...) your hair was long when we first met (this is referring to the bible; how samson's hair represents strength and masculinity) Samson went back to bed, not much hair left on his head (meaning that he'd been somewhat broken down of his strength and maybe that the relationship had become tiresome?) ate a slice of wonderbread and went right back to bed (this could either mean that the relationship had become routine and monotonous or she could be referring to bread in a biblical manner where it represents hope and nourishment) and the history books forgot about us and the bible didn't mention us yeah, the bible didn't mention us. not even once (their love was profound at first but after it died it became nothing special) **skipping the repeated parts** beneath the stars keep falling on our heads (i take this as stars meaning old memories of when they were together) but they're just old light, they're just old light (light meaning something like an old flame; they used to be in love and still remember that time, but they aren't anymore) samson came to my bed, told me that my hair was red (redhead sometimes means one has a bad temper; he may think she's overreacting to something) told me I was beautiful and came into my bed (trying to relieve her of her worries, sort of blowing off her problems as if they are no big deal) oh, I cut his hair myself one night (metaphorical "hair"--she made him vulnerable; got through his mask of strength) a pair of dull scissors in the yellow light (she didn't do a perfect job at breaking him down, hence dull scissors) and he told me I had done alright and kissed me till the morning light, the morning light, the morning light (this one confuses me a bit...i can't seem to find a clear meaning. maybe he'd had enough of her attempts of getting in his head so... I DON'T KNOW! haha) **once again, skipping the repeated parts** oh, we couldn't bring the columns down (they couldn't overcome the obstacles in their relationship) yeah, we couldn't destroy a single one (the problems kept getting worse and worse but they couldn't do anything to fix them; maybe they're both stubborn?) that's pretty much the song, minus the repeated lines in the chorus and bridge. i hope i'm not the only one who has interpreted the song in this way :P |
