I'm entering a frame bombarded by indecision Where a man like me can easily let the day get out of control Down this far in the quarter I'm pushed hard upon the border But, I'd rather be caught 'round now instead of oh, say, 'round the month of June But if I can leave with a little bit of explanation Then anywhere in the world I choose to go I'll have it made. I quite agree with notchirs. What I get from the intro is that he is aware of his addiction and that he knows he could easily lose it and fuck up with an overdose anyday. For "But, I'd rather be caught 'round now instead of oh, say, 'round the month of June" I get two things: a) that he wants his truths be know on his own terms while he is still alive and can express them conciously. and "But if I can leave with a little bit of explanation Then anywhere in the world I choose to go I'll have it made." if the achieves that then he could die a happy man. or b) that he rather die young than old. The song itself I think is about a former relationship that ended because of his addiction. The cadillac being him sober and clean. The galaxie being him high on drugs. And even though he can become sober and clean, he prefers to get high because that condition is part of who he really is. He says he chooses to be that way instead of being a cadillac guy. |
