This song is very personal to me. I listened to this song after a whole year of liking this girl. We flirted constantly and she even told me she liked me but I never did anything about it. I bought the album for christmas and sat down and listened to it. This song struck me straight away. To me it's about doubting whether you like a girl or not. You keep questioning and from the questioning you lose her. "Maybe you lost her to another". That line gets me every time. Coz that's how I felt. I felt like she was mine but I screwed it up and lost her to someone else. |

really really beautiful song. imo its about someone whos just been through so many bad things. its almost a summary of the whole More than This album. The whole album is depressing and the beginning of this song is him being really depressed about what happened. it definitely ties to She is the Sunlight. It refers a few times to sunlight and I think he's saying how he wasted all this time and energy, but that god is still there for him and all the other people like him who are just so depressed that they are shattered. the builiding up part and the climax is him having hope about god saving him. theres no denying that hes definitely referring to god and he says that faith is all he has. so hes lost everything, probably a girl, and is really depressed about it, but he's saying there is hope in god. |

this song applies to me at the moment i think. i think hes sorta saying he made a mistake because he became too narrow minded (tunnel vision came to me) and he wants to forget it (like erosion changes memories). when he says father its either referring to his actual father and he's gone home to his parents but its probably more likely god. basically the song is about how he was very narrow minded (about love) and he didnt stay focussed so he managed to stuff everything up and now he's going back to where he started. he shouldve just stayed focussed but didnt. its a really nice little song i think. |

One of my favourite songs. I think this song is about a girl that doesn't care about him ("while I bang on this piano like you care at all) and has used him ("I'm just a pawn in your game"). He doesn't know what to do because he truly loves her ("But I'll be holding onto you forever")but she doesn't feel the same way and its tearing him up inside. He can't let go so he's gonna wait for her even though she doesn't care for him. I can totally relate and Sean is me :( . Anyway its a beautiful deep song and the lyrics are beautiful and poetic. |

At the fray concert I went to it took them over 10 mins to play this song. It was full of such emotion and feeling but all the members of the band. Halfway through Isaac stopped singing and told the story of why he wrote it. He said something like: We usually work through songs for months or years with everyone in the band before we fine tune a song. This song came to me in 10 mins when my wife was away in Australia. I was so sad and just wanted to be with her and this got me thinking about what made me happy, what made me sad and all that stuff. So I wrote this song.
So when he says "But you are gone- not for good but for now, Gone for now feels a lot like gone for good", he is refering to his wife, same with "Let it go, live your life and leave it, then one day wake up and she'll be home". The song is Isaac reflecting on what makes him happy and just happiness in general. |
