| The Antlers – Stonethrower Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I was sort of surprised that no one even bothered trying to interpret the lyrics to this song in the five years since Uprooted was released..so I don't know if these are really right, but that's what I heard. Hopefully it helps someone..correct it if you think I'm wrong..I'm really not sure about "mosquitoes fucking blood from your arms", in particular. | |

| It was a good fucking album, but I never got too into it...I haven't listened to these guys in a while, though. Need to give this album another listen sometime.. | |
| My Chemical Romance – The Only Hope For Me Is You Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think this band's actually gotten better since The Black Parade. I never got too into Bullets or Three Cheers, but The Black Parade is one of my favorite albums of all time - the concept part of it is really great, and it was just done very well. And this is also going to be a concept album, I believe? If they do it half as well as they did it on that album, this should be a great work. I like this song a lot, particularly the synth bit at the beginning. It's really very sweet and honest feeling. Rather not think too hard on meaning since I've only listened to it a few times... And I agree with Adalia - Na Na Na and Only Hope are really very different. And both are completely different from anything else this band's done before. I love how they actually attempt to make progress musically; something you don't hear from a lot of bands as mainstream as MCR. Prog rock in pop culture is essentially dead, but this band certainly makes the attempt without ever crossing into an area where they'd lose their audience. Damn good band, really. |

| Sublime – New Thrash Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
The influence Public Enemy had on Sublime is really kind of surprising...the first line, "I've got so much trouble on my mind", is also the first line in "Welcome To The Terrordome" by Public Enemy. "Running from a gun or some brain that weighs a ton" (in New Song) is from the Public Enemy song "Can't Do Nuttin For Ya Man!" - though that song makes it more obvious where the influence came from. Just found that interesting, anyway. Might not have even been an intentional thing in New Thrash - mighta just been a line Brad worked with and forgot where it came from. I write songs and that happens to me constantly, although when I realize where the line was originally from I tend to trash it. Glad Brad never did that. |

| Blink-182 – Hope (Descendents cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I like Blink...but I like the Descendents better. If you wanna hear a decent cover of this song, listen to Sublime's version. Honestly, Blink woulda been fine performing it exactly like the Descendents did - I don't know why he tried to different stuff with the vocals; it just sounded stupid. | |
| The Expendables – Wells Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I like this one. The original isn't as good as the acoustic, though. It's pretty melancholy, but it kinda seems hopeful at the same time. It's really the only song off "Prove It" so far that I've been able to listen to more than a couple times without it losing its luster. | |
| 3OH!3 – My First Kiss (feat. Ke$ha) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Hey; just wanted to say that these are the lyrics to My First Kiss (as I interpreted). The song was released on 3OH!3's site today; the one that's here now was the live version from YouTube. My first kiss went a little like this And twist, and twist My first kiss went a little like this And twist, and twist I said no more teachers and no more books I gotta kiss under the bleachers hoping that nobody looks Lips like licorice, tongue like candy Excuse me miss but can I get you out your panties? In the back of the car on the way to the bar I got you on my lips (I got you on my lips) At the foot of the stairs with my fingers in your hair Baby this is it She won’t ever get enough once she gets a little touch If I had it my way, you know that I’d make her say Ooh Ooh She won’t ever get enough once she gets a little touch If I had it my way, you know that I’d make her say Ooh Ooh My first kiss went a little like this I said no more sailors and no more soldiers Got your name in a heart tattooed up on your shoulders Your kiss is like whiskey, it gets me drunk And I wake up in the morning with the taste of your tongue In the back of the car on the way to the bar I got you on my lips (I got you on my lips) At the foot of the stairs with my fingers in your hair Baby this is it Oh! She won’t ever get enough once she gets a little touch If I had it my way, you know that I’d make her say Ooh Ooh She won’t ever get enough once she gets a little touch If I had it my way, you know that I’d make her say Ooh Ooh My first kiss went a little like this And twist, and twist My first kiss went a little like this And twist, and twist Yeah, she won’t ever get enough Once she gets a little touch If I had it (my way) You know that I’d make her say Ooh She won’t ever get enough once she gets a little touch If I had it my way, you know that I’d make her say Ooh Ooh She won’t ever get enough once she gets a little touch If I had it my way, you know that I’d make her say Ooh Ooh She won’t ever get enough once she gets a little touch If I had it my way, you know that I’d make her say |

| Smash Mouth – Pet Names Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I'm surprised that there are really any other interpretations than the obvious...I believe the song is basically just listing off pet names (that his girlfriend used to call him), and then stating the reason why she broke up with him: because he's insane, loves porn or sex, is a drunk, out of a job, probably cheating on her too, and essentially worthless. However, the man's too naive to understand what he did wrong. It goes on to state what he thinks will happen to her next boyfriend - he believes that she's just too picky. Any serious meaning to this song aside, I found this hilarious to listen to. I was really laughing out loud; put me in a great mood. |
