I don't know,I had some kind of my own theory before reading the comments and I should say that you guys are really smart,now my theory has a part of every single yours (except the ridiculous ones)..and is like product of your thoughts mixed with mine I feel like Sara had been in a very passionate relationship and she is still in love with her ex , and she needs a new soulmate to cope with the previous one..at least it looks that way to me and she is saying that she wants to draw her "floorplan" (to the new one) to make it easier to replace the ex that she's still in love with and she is trying to love the current lover , but she is still holding the lost in her heart and she doesn't believe that there is a chance to get over it. And sometimes she feels like she can't take it and she can't help but want to run away..and using the meaning of "building" in "I was married" I think it meant obstacle ( the government) Very strong obstacle,and I think the only one..And now she is using it as something strong inside her,something that wouldn't let her let go..but the author just couldn't resist,and she is making what she shouldn't. And about the lungs,I think she needs someone to love her so much and so truly to make her forget her ex..and I doubt that in this part with the " i think about writing you" she wants to confess everything OR to try to finish this thing,with the belief that if she write it on paper or say it she will feel better and will start going through this relationship. Or maybe the lungs thing is about her ex,I don't know.. it is not-so-catchy song,just like tegan style.. I wonder why Sara did it this way.. |

Now I understand that Sara and Emy were married,I didn't know that.. So,about the song it's pretty clear that it is about the homophobia and the after break-up thing.. well,you can't look in the mirror and see that part of you that seems weird for the rest of the society,it's just who you are,you're born with it and if it makes you happy I don't find anything wrong with the whole same-sex thing,I approve it , but there are still a lot of people who haven't experienced it so they still have the old-fashioned point of view that 100 % the marriage should be between woman and man..I don't mean that it is a fashion to be gay :D so.. for all the people who have to say something bad about the gay relationships- shut the fuck up. And the part with the magnets is pretty romantic,I was surprised,it sounds very good indeed :) so I don't think that "trying to control the pull of one magnet to another" should be hidden or keeping in secret ot that sort of stuff.. I mean if you feel about this person very strong in one moment you shouldn't care where you are ,who you are,what are the going to think after you come out of the closet .. somethimes the chemistry is too bad to resist,you know :D |
