This song makes me cry every time I listen to it--which happens to be often. Endgame is the only CD in my car, and I figure if the radio plays the same 5 annoying songs on repeat all day, I may as well listen to Endgame so I'll at least like the repeated songs. The first time I really listened to this song, the narration did get to me: when will America finally collapse? Yes, the listed countries ended very long ago. And sure, we're powerful. Too bad the country has been turning for the worse, reverting to socialism. Will it end? Communism? Maybe I'm thinking too far into this. Regardless, I adore this song and hope they sing it when I see them in concert. |

I am just going to assume that you have not listened to the entire album. The whole ASITS album is a story about a man and his family. We are all trying to figure out how this song ties in with the story. You pretty much just paraphrased the quotation at the beginning, which does nothing. Unless, of course, you are trying to be sarcastic. If so, you didn't do a very good job of it. |

I agree, this is one of my favorites.
However, it sounds like in this part:
"I cant stop the rain
But i can stop the tears,
Oh i cant fight the fire,
But i cant fight the fear."
The lyrics go "can" "can't" "can" "can't" or the opposite. |
