The Divine Comedy – To Die A Virgin Lyrics 16 years ago
It's no coincidence the date in the song... Neil Hannon's birthday is the 7th November. The furthest possible away it could be.

The Divine Comedy – Tonight We Fly Lyrics 16 years ago
I love this song. It's optimistic and wistful and makes you pine for the feeling of being in love. For some reason it reminds me a lot of Arthur Dent in The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy... there's a scene where he is flies through the night with Fenchurch and it's just the two of them with this wonderful secret against the rest of the world. (Anyone else know what I'm talking about?) I think the backing drumbeats are what gives this song its excitement and joy.

The Divine Comedy – A Drinking Song Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is made for being sung, loudly, on the street when walking home late at night. All my lovers shall be pink, and elephantine!

The Divine Comedy – Don't Look Down Lyrics 16 years ago
possibly my favourite Divine Comedy song. Philosophical, whimsical, and wry, but not taking itself too seriously. And Neil Hannon's laconic vocals. Perfect.

Coldplay – Yellow Lyrics 16 years ago
I always misheard it as "you're skin, oh yeah you're skin and bones, turning into something beautiful" and for me it was a really important song for me when I was getting over anorexia. I used to imagine it as someone singing to me to encourage me to get better. I can see how a drug interpretation would work too though!
