Cudo's, right on. The Egyptian Tombs have proven you can not take your wealth with you. I am fortunate to have received proof of life after death, there is a soul that transpires after body death. Make true love, peace, harmony, co-exsist, be a hero and stand up for these things and pay the personal price in this life to stand for these things that you do take with you into the next life. John may have been seen as an Atheist, but iriornically his message had similarities to that of Jesus Christ. I think John's beef, rightly so was against the hypocracies of most Organized Religons. What men control where there is money and power likley has greed and corruption hiding in its shadows. Read up on organized religon history, the facts are there. But don't confuse the religion/philosophy with many of the church management ("Beware of false phropets"). Please note the list of all the Beatles' songs. Most of Lennon's songs were co-written with Paul. George made his contributions but was more shy and quiet, but take a listen to his solo album, definately not a parasite. As for Ringo, the rest of the group credits him for being the final catalyst as a great drummer (bottom line beat)that melded the sound and making of a great band. Watch the films of the Beatle's Anthology with direct interviews with each of them. What broke up the Band was "Growing Up". They got older, got wifes, lives of their own grew and caused the separation. Like old Army or College friends it is a cherished shared moment in time, oobla di, oobla da, life goes on dear. P.S. Unless I misunderstand you, it appears you are one of the pesants John sings about. More artists and everyday people need to be heros and "spew" rightousness, changing the system for the better, breaking down the bars. Yes these kind of statements probably did get Lennon killed, along with Abe Lincoln, JFK, Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy and let's not forget Jesus Christ. God Bless them all. Its a shame you seem to reflect the ideas of the Natzi Party, you yourself seem to be the one hungry for the mob to lynch you as Musilini or the world to come after you like my father's generation took care of Hitler and his allies. You portray your self as either a coward or one of the immoral bullies this song is written about. |

The song has sad trueisms about life and people. Most of us get played as smucks as the lyrics portray. I believe the message is to recognize this, be cognacent but don't be a smuck about it. Have the courage to call it like it is, stand up for truth and justice. Call out and stand up against the bad doers, most bullies and cockroaches run when the lights are turned on. Like John, be willing to put your life on the line to defend truth, justice, peace and true (not just sex) love. That's what I believe Lennon ment when he wrote if you want to be a hero follow me. I was a teenager in the late 60's, early 70's and have learned and lived his message. When the bullies at school beat on me, I then took Judo Lessons (stand up). At work keep good notes, CYA (Cover Your Ass) files, document your good actions and stand on activities with memos to your boss. With these practices you can make shit roll UP HILL. Like the Beach Boy's Song, "The Bad Guys know us and they leave us alone". John is saying really be a working class hero, not just a working class pessant (piss ant. Do this by standing up and putting your job and live on the line. Too many of us are cowards and sheep which leads us to the slaughter. Good people in live and on the job need to lock arms with each other to fend off the wrong doers, then you win. As cowards most run, hide, tolerate tyrants and let them committ atrosities against your fellow humans hoping to just hide themselves below the radar for their own protection and benifit. Beware, be ready, you will not always be popular for being good, smart and rightous. People chose Barabus over Christ, they assinated John, so things unfortunately have not changed much. As for me suffering and being willing to die for these good principals gives me strength and wisdom to know this life is short, the next one is eternity and I will be able to look God in the eye when it's my time. |
