The narrator of this song is watching her partner leave right when things are starting to get bad (hence the "run, save yourself") and feels resentful ("don't waste time"). Save yourself from emotional pain and confusion before it's too late is what she's trying to say, a song about heartbreak and loss. |

The meaning to this song is pretty simple- I see this lp as a concept album, focusing on one's descent into negativity and self-destruction caused by long periods of isolation (but that's obvious!). The whole album contemplates the action of suicide- whether it's really worth it or not, and in this song, the narrator finally reaches a conclusion with one of the best metaphors I've ever heard "Life is my coffin and it's time to shut the lid." So powerful, best black metal vocals I've ever heard accompanied by repetitive music (but never boring) that accurately represents the repetition that goes in a suicidal person's head. |

I think JohnnyDeath has it right about slackin' through life. And I guess this song could also be interpreted as life post-college (or completely without college). Either way, it's about living a boring, shitty, unproductive life in general. The examples are spread throughout the song- junk car, tired all the time, bad job, shitty love life, etc. |

To me this song (at face value) seems to be about a break up. The thirty-eight hours might since he got her home might represent the amount of time since they were done, as for the rest, I'm really not sure. Just a shame that this song isn't longer |

Not exactly sure about the exact meaning (but it definitely is about death in some way)- one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. |

This song is the perfect blend of nihilism, suicidal thoughts, misanthropy, and unrelenting boredom |

You guys got the meaning down- basically, she got over it and went on with her life- he didn't. I'm pretty sure the first time he says "ripped out my heart" he actually says "ripped out my fucking heart", he just says "fucking" quickly, which is great, adds some more anger to the song |

Seems to be about isolation, possibly after a break up or a change for the worse, and trying hard to break out of it but ending up in the same place over and over. |

Incredible song, not sure as to why this one hasn't been commented on more (to me, it's the best song on the album and probably the best closing song this year).
As to the meaning, well, it's basically about giving up on girls after a really terrible break-up/ let down. From the verse, it seems that the girl has become a huge slut, and it breaks the singer's heart to see her do that after she was with him. The "she was just one of those girls" line could possibly be the singer telling himself that "eh, she was just like all the others" to make himself feel better, or he still loves her in a sense. And jesus, the ending, just wow, the repetition of "after her after her i quit girls" is incredible, especially with that music being played in the background at the end (from the slow beginning to the fast end where the drums come in). Interpretation is probably wrong but that's the way I see it -shrug- |
