@[amanda1121:19150] Loved your breakdown! I have a slightly different interpretation of the following lines: "I will wipe the salt off of my skin and I'll admit that I got it wrong. And there is grey between the lines" - I always took these to mean: "I'll try to hold my head up, wipe away my tears and though I know I played a part, I won't shoulder all the blame you place on me." But that's just my take. I think there's more sadness in this song and also a sense that she's trying to regain dignity from a relationship she held on to too tightly. Final realization, acceptance and goodbye. |
