| Bruce Springsteen – When You're Alone Lyrics | 8 years ago |
|
Meaning is pretty clear. I just couldn't understand some of what he says in the third verse. I was hoping that this line wasn't true: "Nobody knows, honey where love goes. But when it goes it's gone, gone." But if Bruce said it, it must be true |

| @[Nosferatuman:23010] Hey I have fucked myself. I've fucked myself a lot. This song is still a pile of garbage. | |
| Dave Matthews Band – Fool to Think Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I've been feeling this way recently and then I thought of this song and it hit me like a ton of bricks. The song is spooky relatable. Dave just nails every line, delivered with passion. Love the plea at the end. Definitely one of the most underrated in the dmb catalogue. I wonder where Dave gets the sentiment? |

"I've just seen a face I can't forget the time or place where we just met she's just the girl for me and I want all the world to see we've met hmm hmm hmm la da da" Man, my "Help" album doesn't play like it used to... hahaha |

| The Beatles – Please Please Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Surprised people still don't think it's about oral sex. If it's anything else I'm disappointed. To the "innocents" what does John mean by "You don't need me to show the way..." followed by the c'mons, and the fact that pleasing someone is so commonly used in this context? The only lyric that doesn't fit this interpretation is the first part of the bridge. But I wouldn't think too much of it. John uses this to place a fairly clever rhyme scheme(complainin'... rain in). Something the Beatles aren't generally known for. Anyhow, great song. Should be regarded higher than other early classics such as "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" or "She Loves You" IMO. |

| Nanci Griffith – Gulf Coast Highway Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Truly one of my all-time favorite songs. I love every version I've heard of this song. But the original is probably the best. Indescribably beautiful. I wonder if it's a real house. If so, I have to see it someday | |
| Emmylou Harris – Gulf Coast Highway Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Actually it's "We tend our garden..." | |
| The Knack – My Sharona Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Lyrics like "Always get it up for the touch of the younger kind" just don't do it for me. Also has an annoying, repetitive riff that you don't want to get stuck in your head. Just terrible... | |
| The Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Not a very good Beatles cover, I must say | |
| The Kooks – Shine On Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| First time I heard the song I thought the singer was retarded. It could be an inspirational song to other retarded people. | |
| Meat Loaf – I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| As a scholar of Meatloaf, it is clear that in this song he is standing up to an especially demanding lover. In the name of love, Meatloaf has always fed his partner's fetishes, but it never seems to be enough. The statement "but I won't do that" is especially empowering for the singer because he is usually a very submissive lover and willing to try anything at least once. He is torn between losing his lover and doing an act that is too extreme even for him. | |
