i always kinda thought it was about a couple who just started dating and they thought it was gonna work but then they both wanted to cheat on eachother or something.. i got that from "there we were dying of frustration, saying Lord lead me not into temptation." and then he says, "but its not easy when she turns you on" which doesnt make sense to me because i thought he would have been singing about a girl, so a girl turning a girl on got me confused. does anyone agree, disagree, or have an explanation? |

I heard this song when I was about 10 when I had never heard of U2 and thought, "I need to find out who this band is!" U2 is the greatest. |

I understand all your interpretations, however I don't understand the one line "but it's not easy when she turns you on". Does someone have an explanation? |
