I've never seen any elliott smith song as black and white and "this was wrote because this happened" or whatever, i always thought they were like a picture and you take what you want from it as you could see it different ways (like he said to the interviewer about the photo of new york) , i think thats why he stays quiet most of the time about the meanings but anyway sorry to ramble...... I think what Nightneversleeps was saying was very true about a disconnection from something....i always saw it as being about someone "Stayin up all night" and being truely lonely,feeling like you could never find someone who could stay up that late and stop you from feeling that way.Being up that late makes you feel like a satellite/moon something so far away from anything else its hard to think sanely. I believe everyone elses interpretations are correct also This song makes me think about nick drake up all night tuning and playin guitar |
