@sephian: Actually, I posted this lyric WEEKS before the official CD release. This version here was for the Live Radio version of Postcard, not the studio version. He says "Light" on the live radio version, and "Fire" on the studio one. And no, if you listen to the Radio version, he clearly says "Wii" and not eat. If he changed it for the studio version, I won't know until I see the official lyrics, but thanks for your input. |

I have a live acoustic version of this song that Steven Wilson does solo in Tel Aviv in 2003. Interestingly, you can clearly hear him say in the last verse, "So for a while, everything's in you"... I can't make out the next line after that though. He for sure DIDN'T say, "did we connect?", unless he screwed up the lyrics. In fact, it was really unintelligible. I only made out, "Did we..." but the next word he said isn't what the lyrics here, or other sites as well, have listed. If anyone can make it out, let me know. DJ |

| If you ever get a chance, check out the Shesmovedon "Tim Palmer Remix" version of this tune, which can be found on either "Out Absentia", "Porcupine Tree Sampler 2002.3", or "Recordings II". That version blows away the ones off Lightbulb Sun and Deadwing in my opinion. The solo is friggin' intense and the song seems to have so much more presence. Love it. | |

Oops! Correction again. On the CD the lyrics for the chorus are: Once she would hold me She was my only Only to love Once she had told me Better hold me Hold me so long He changed the second to the last line on the live version to "Cannot hold me". Exact opposite. Love it when Steven mixes it up live. He kinda did the same thing on "Even Less Live" on Arriving Somewhere in Porcupine Tree. DJ |

Actually the last two lines of the chorus are incorrect. It seems all the lyric engines online have it this way too. Above it says: "That I'm holy Only so long" Steven is actually saying: "Cannot hold me Hold me so long" I thought the lyrics posted here were right until I saw the Blackfield Live in NYC DVD the other day. Check it out on youtube. You can make the lyrics out more clearly for this part on the live version. DJ |

| Sounds to me like he's saying "Gut feeling I don't want you to be there, Gut feeling I don't want you to be". Maybe because he has a gut feeling that someone has died in the accident, or someone he knows may have died, and he doesn't like the feeling and wants it to pass. Hard to tell. "Got a feeling that I want you to be there" almost makes it seem like he's wishing someone he knows has died in the crash, which I don't think is what SW intended to portray at all. This song was inspired by the feeling Wilson felt after witnessing a car accident while driving home from the studio one day. He imagined, or knew, that someone died and that their ghost was in the passenger seat of his car. The feeling evoked from that experience would surely be an uneasy and eerie one...not hopeful of someone's death. Else, if the lyrics above are correct, he could be meaning that he wants someone he knows to be at home instead, and not in the accident. | |

| From 4:17 to 4:34 in the video are scenes from an amusement park. Comes right after SW says the last two lines. It's Alton Towers I would imagine, but I can't make out the name of the ride. Looks like the first word is "Pure", but the park doesn't have any rides past or present with that word from what I've found. There's a girl with her back to the camera wearing a black jacket it seems around 4:26. Maybe the coat he references. Just a thought... | |
