Madonna – Erotica Lyrics | 8 years ago |
Honestly, I think this song is about a BDSM fantasy. These lines mean dominance to me: If I'm in charge and I treat you like a child Will you let yourself go wild Give it up, do as I say Give it up and let me have my way Even the part "I'd like to put you in a trance" could be taken to mean a submissive subspace. If you're unfamiliar, google it and you'll see what I mean. And these lines point to S/M: Once you put your hand in the flame You can never be the same There's a certain satisfaction In a little bit of pain I don't think you know what pain is I don't think you've gone that way I could bring you so much pleasure Only the one that hurts you can make you feel better Only the one that inflicts pain can take it away |

Yes let's all hear it for the man upstairs who drowned all his children. Great guy! He'd win man of the year....if he actually existed. |

I hate country music. But this song...it's beautiful. |
Pink – Just Give Me a Reason Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I guess I have a little bit different take on this song. I agree with others that she feels like there's a disconnect but when she brings it up to him, he says everything is fine. Now, others say that she's just thinking too much, but I disagree. I think that things are NOT fine, but he's not communicating with her about what is wrong. Think about the lyrics where she says "you're holding it in, you're pouring a drink". I believe that things aren't okay like he says, perhaps he's fallen out of love or something. But rather than try to fix it, he'd rather just say things are fine, and pour himself a drink and not think about it because that's just easier. |

I have a completely different take on this song. From the first time I heard it I thought this was a guy who had a girlfriend, but then had an affair...maybe even planned to leave his girlfriend for the new girl. But then he realizes how much his girlfriend loves him and he feels that he needs to stay with her, even if he doesn't really want to, and this is his breakup song to the girl he cheated with. I think it's the line "And what I must do" that does it for me the most. He doesn't say what he wants to do, he says what he MUST do. He doesn't say how much he loves her, he says "the way she loves ME". |
The Police – Don't Stand So Close To Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
That's not how I see it. When the "accusations fly", I see that as a meeting the uppers in the school called to question the teacher and the student about the rumors. I think "It's no use, he sees her" means that he tries to be cool and deny the rumors, but when the girl walks in and he sees her, he gets so nervous that he shakes and coughs. I could be totally wrong, but that's just how it sounds to me. |

I read on the music channel on TV when this song as on and it said this song is about obsession and surveillance. Nabakov wrote a novel called Lolita about an old man who becomes obsessed with a 12 year old girl. So there's the obsession part. The surveillance part I am thinking must be about the bus stop...perhaps he's watching her everyday and when it rains, that's the best time to lure her in. Not that she isn't already attracted. |

ROFLMAO! Awesome! |
Paul Hardcastle – 19 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is hilarious? It's saying that the average age of soldiers that died in Vietman was 19. How in the hell is that hilarious? It's incredibly sad. These young men were drafted into war and killed when their lives had barely begun. You must be either be heartless or completely clueless. I really hope it's the latter. |
Jack Johnson – Flake Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think this song is about trying to get back together or forgiving someone in a relationship. It seems that he made a mistake in the relationship, which she says is fine "I know she said it's alright But you can make it up next time". But in reality, when he talks to her about getting back together or forgiving him she always tells him maybe, and he is realizing that she simply can't let go of whatever he did and he's getting tired of it: "It seems to me that maybe It pretty much always means no So don't tell me you might just let it go" |
Kermit the Frog – Rainbow Connection Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It may be sung by a puppet, but it's been sung by others, such as Sarah McLaughlin (sp?). I don't know if you're right, but your thoughts on the meaning actually make sense :) |
Soul Asylum – Runaway Train Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I don't think the song is about missing kids so much as it is about runaway kids. I think the meaning of the song is that stuff happened at home and they left. But now on the streets, things have only gotten worse and they have only become more "lost" as in the verse, "this time i have really lead myself astray". |
