I heard this song while my girlfriend was listening to Pandora - and what a discovery. We really do love this tune. It's reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac which is also a great group, though older now (Rhiannon, Landslide, Dreams, etc. if you don't know who they are). I could see how the lyrics could be interpreted differently (I find both of the above interpretations interesting and fitting. I lean toward the mental instability, personally as I find it a little more interesting). Lyrical ambiguity has always been something I have appreciated though. It's as if the artist doesn't want to make it too easy for you to define their song. I like room for thought in an artwork. |

This song is about letting go and allowing yourself to live and be happy. While the video may not be G-rated, it's still a good song with a good message. It's funny how much emotional depth some songs still have to them. They get fewer and fewer nowadays. Even if getting deep into that emotional depth isn't your thing, this song is still easily appreciated as a good pre-party/party song. Love it and live it up because everything disappears on the dance floor, even if just for a while. |
