I think that this song is about reaching the point in assessing your past when you are finally able to smile, rather than be bitter. I think that the term home is used to describe the familiarity of your past that you have returned to time and time again because it is all that you know. It's about accepting your current reality and deciding how to move forward, away from your "home", and towards the liberation of growth... even if it means that you need to accept the emotional and physical loneliness - because in the end it will lead you to wake up to a new world around you. |

I feel like this song tells the story that so many people in today's shitty society can relate to. It's the painful pressure of the world around you, pulling you in every direction and creating high expectations that set you up to fail. It's the desire to hide from demands, only to find that there is no hiding from reality- nor yourself. It's the desire to be free of the "norm" and just live. |
