Marilyn Manson – Long Hard Road Out Of Hell Lyrics 16 years ago
k, here's my piece. i think this song signifies a change in manson's music. "i wanna live, i wanna love" being what he wants from life and what he plans on writing about a lot more. the albums that followed anti-christ superstar are definitely a change from his previous work(appreciates a varied artist). i think he's equating himself with jesus in this song. maybe manson feels, in the way jesus lived for his people, he's living for his fans but he doesn't want die for us (metaphorically ofcourse). i think he's saying he's taking his life and work in another direction whether his fans like it or not.

"You never said forever, could ever hurt like this" (maybe he's referring to his life as a superstar)

"How many times to do this for you?" (talking to us. how many times do i have to do this for you?)

"Sell my soul for anything, anything but you" (again, to us.)

this is all theory ofcourse; i could be way off but it makes sense doesn't it?
