| As I Lay Dying – Anodyne Sea Lyrics

I think it about how people fade into conformity and paralysis. Seeing as anodyne generally means safe or inoffensive. Before the epic breakdown Tim says "Fading back into an anodyne sea, to drown with all who've gone before me" meaning that too many people fade into inaction and apathy. Check out the rest of the album, it's a theme.

I'm pretty sure one of the dudes in the band wrote it. I think it's a lamentation of how he's searched for love in women and they've left and he's feeling empty. But the cool thing it points to God and his God-shaped piece. Just my two cents, being a dude it's what I get out of it. |

| Oh, Sleeper – A BANQUET FOR TRAITORS Lyrics

Best song on the album in my opinion. I'm pretty sure it's about a man wrestling with God (Gen 35 I think, check out Jacob). The song has a lot of the themes that are portrayed throughout Oh, Sleeper's music, sexual addiction, unworthiness, insignificance, and God being like "dude, I love you, shut up and follow me." "Although my eye's on eve you're ready to bleed for me as if I'm royalty." I love that line, I think it brings up some of those themes. It's basically Adam's lamentations through his sons, we woke up one day, and eve became this pillar of sex (figuratively anyway). I'm pretty sure that's how Micah intended this song. |

A lot of Oh, Sleeper's lyrics remind me of the book "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge. It's about getting our hearts back, being men, turning back to flagship! Check it out. |

I think it's about a guy who was obsessing over a relationship, and the girl broke his heart. Now this is him overreacting to it "if I should die." |

"We came this far to tear the curtain." refers to when Christ died the curtain between the Holy of Holies and the outside of it tore. Basically, he's begging God to forgive him. |

| The Devil Wears Prada – Sassafras Lyrics

Actually I think Mike is trying to make a point that people get wrapped up in the finer things of Christianity. For example, in Ephesians I think, Paul is writing to these people who have placed speaking in tongues higher than any other spiritual gift. When Mike says "don't run if you don't know your walk, this is the faith complex." I think he's referring to a your walk with Christ. "turn your thoughts to the roots, as we've all been caught up in the branches" I think he's saying to focus on the core things of spirituality, building from the roots up. What do you think? |

Agreed, do any of you Archers remember on "Vices like Vipers" one of the last lines he says "this my lust, the pornos and the sluts". It's evident in the lyrics that they're addressing the common problem few want to talk about, lust. |
