I think the song somewhat ties into the vietnam war. The strawberry fields represent the fields of blood left behind, and lines like 'nothing is real' were used to describe how crazy the war seemed to them. Under those conditions, I guess 'That is you can't tune in but it's all right, at least I think it's not too bad,' would refer to the inflated casualty levels and propaganda surrounding the event which made it hard to find real estimates at the time, though it would have been a little bit more difficult to notice at the time. |

This is definitely related to the Apollo 13 movie. David Bowie just has the ability to see into the future is all. |

I hate this song, because it's to epic for my mind to handle.
Other than that though, it's a pretty beautiful song. |

This song is obviously about someone who has never head of a mac, and prefers DSL... I mean seriously, 50 b/s? my grandma can process information faster than that! |

I'm pretty sure the line "to be punished for unproven crimes" refers to the suspension of the right of habeas corpus, the right to a fair trial, which happens all the time in warfare. And Eurasia is the geographic supercontinent consisting of Europe and Asia, which (obviously) makes up an enormous portion of the world. |
