This is probably my all time favorite song.. ever. The lyrics mean a lot to me. Mostly because at my school, metalheads are the outcasts, and so this song means a seperation, a 'fuck you, i dont care' attitude. Never wanted your approval Never wanted your acceptance Never wanted to be anything but me Never wanted to be anywhere but here. a seperation from the hell that others put in place of a peacful society (this isnt what randy was thinking obviously, but its what i got out of the song) its my anthem of life |

The intrumentals meld with Oli's voice perfectly. As far as meaning, I think everyones hit the dot here. 'Cept for the whole religious piece, i think he put that in there because hes overwhelmed about his secret, and doesn't know what to do so he 'I look up to the sky'. Any christian will have a meaning like: he looks up to the sky to find god, but hes uncertain, and when he finds him, he doesn't know if he'll believe, and if he doesn't why would god believe in him. Then they say "well cause god loves you" Any non christian would get this out of it: he looks up to the sky but doesn't thik he'll see anyone, rendering him all alone. he says to himself "this secret is so terrible that IF there was a god, he wouldn't believe in me" both are very right, like every song on this site, only the artist knows what they ment... thats the beauty of it. By the way, I love everything about this song. Bring Me The Horizon forever |
