The song is vague in the manner of who "he" is because "he" represents evil in it's true nature and evil as we as individuals see evil. Evil can be anything that provokes or brings us to a dark place to where we want retribution because all we see is red. Evil can also be found in some of the lightest places and this song sets the strange for loss of a tomorrow and possibly loss of identity. It is very eye for an eye and a soul for a soul. |

Ok i think this song is defintly about a werewolf :) but i think it is symbolic for the "monsters" that live inside all of use and in this case the man could not fight his. |

I think this song is about a King who is dying and is reflecting appon his past. "here I stand
a small and simple man" could mean that he is being humbled by god and "who will trade his karma for my kingdom" could be the king challenging those of who think they want the burden of his throne.

You could look at it from that prospective but i think i could be based more on gothic culture in association with the idea of the vampire image. I think the references paint a darker picture of a love story and a feeling of being alone with one to understand. |

So I love how you all turned a discussion about a great song into a total shit fest! Listen I agree Danzig is talented and and a great singer and it is a shame he no longer a part of such a great band. But this song is beautiful and it is very deep if you can't appreciate then you don't have to listen. I love the Misfits regardless of the line up. |
