I agree with others, it's about a relationship in which the guy isn't as serious as she is about the relationship. I think 'it's a half life, with you as my quarter back' is such great word play. I also sense a bit of a football analogy, but not really. Sort of like abstract, especially at this point: Long for one last show down, From a box in a crowd. Air compressed tight to explode. I'm clentching my ticket to the only way out, As you dissappear in a puff of smoke. ---- This part always makes me think of a football game. --- This is also one of the only songs I can plan out an entire music video for in my head. I dunno, I can just visualize it really well. |

So I've been trying to figure out this line for a while now and today it came to me: Tell me how you fashion kind When you're out of style I think what it's saying is like...when you are out of optimism/kindness/whatever how do you pretend you still have some left? How can one still be kind when they are on the verge of going insane or getting agnry, etc. |

Woah, I never though of this song as being about her mother. I always saw it as a father and daughter song. Probably because my dad is the one who is more likely to take me 'window shopping', since my mom hates shopping. But I always thought this would be such a cute father daughter song for a wedding. |

I think this song is about someone at war. Obviously a young person, since they can't yet drink so they are under 21. I although always thought the line was "with our memories we all fade" not without. But I could be wrong. |

I love this song. My favorite line is "I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head" To me, this song is about living life to the fullest because you never know what might happen and you might as well live a good life before you die. This can be seen in lines like: I hope to make a toast to all those hallow bones we become ...or... "I've been gathering friends just to make some sound before the ship goes down." |
