You know you lost me. I mean you had me that it's the baseball team but thinking of changing a career or even a single person? That I don't agree with. To learn to swim or learn to die is a metaphor such as it's do or die, sink or swim, ect ect. Honestly I think it's about one game. The singer's team was winning but now the other team is making a comeback. Let me break it down how I see it. "The bigger the break the harder the fall" You catch a break but when you fall you fall hard obviously. "The hits in this case are too close to call" It's to close to call whos going to win. "The stress and the strain are starting to show" Pressure is building people are getting really stressed out. "This all has to end, and I oughtta know"" It has to end or their done for. "Soon they will come and pass us by," As in points. "a shift in tone, and rise in tide." The other team is making a come back "To learn to swim, or learn to die" It's sink or swim for the team The line it's natural suggestion just says that it's survival of the strongest and apparently their team lost so they should just stop. |
