This song is clearly about Batman. Alfred (Dallas) is telling Bruce (George) "No more. I've stayed here this whole time, and just no more." Kinda like The Dark Knight Rises. Obviously not the official song meaning, but I think it's a cool twist of the words' meaning. |

I'm really surprised no one has compared this to George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four" The lyrics are without a doubt, directly referencing some of the ideals and motifs from the book. (Or at least, his thoughts and interpretation regarding a totalitarian regime) "And there will be no ruins, no memory, no history (Referencing; The Party and their being able to erase any and all knowledge at will) Only our unrelenting march side by side We will comb the earth and sweep it clean, hearts and feet unified (Also referencing The Party's goal of complete love for Big Brother and what 'he' stands for) The hand of man is no match for our warless army" (Referencing; The conspiracy of whether or not The Party was actually at war with other countries, or blatantly lying about it altogether.) Also, the chorus consists of the two main characters, Winston. (Dallas vocals) and O' Brien (George) Check the book out, it's a great read, and really changed my view on what this great song is actually about. |

| I actually am fully convinced that this song is a huge jab at Avenged Sevenfold, if anyone here is a fan of Avenged Sevenfold they would know that Winds of Plagues music video for 'Impaler' is a complete RIP OFF of The Beast And The Harlot video. I was angered when I first saw it, but then it came to me that they are just mocking them, and if you think of they're lyrics as directed towards A7X it all starts to make more sense | |
