it doesn't mean anything. i don't mean it means not something. look at these lines, "Another cosmic demonstration
With stars colliding into suns
It doesn't take imagination
It's just the way this stuff is done
Better than your imagination "
Stars colliding into suns... it's the same thing. it takes no imagination. some things can't be thought. |

wow, people take this stuff too literal. it's just another way of morrissey saying he feels it is impossible for anybody to actually like him because he's not even interested in himself...
even though he really is, but he's trying to get attention.
it's true because why else would he write this song? |

there is truth to what Doug said, but it's not like he wasn't thinking those words. He's not going okay "cure" here and then "tired" here and then "why." If they were truly meaningless he wouldn't have lyrics at all. He's just the type of guy who is not going to get in the way of the song.

it sounds like doug went from jerkin it 3 times a day to 3 times a week and it takes him a long to come.

there is a modest mouse documentary, and in it doug is smoking a cigarette. I'm dead serious too. don't you think doug martsch is the type of person to let the idea of cigarette smoking get so much in his head that he feels forced to write a song about a silly little habit? I think it's perfectly valid and probably pretty likely. You act like it atrocious that he would write about smoking cigarettes. |

the bill hicks joke doug references is hilarious. i could totally see doug agree with a lot of hick's philosophies on life. As a matter of fact the entire album "There is No Enemy" seems like an homage to Hicks. For instance Life's a Dream is a track on the album and Hicks once talked about how Life was simply a ride. This dreamy, existential anxiety mythology about the workings of the world seems to be prevalent in both artists work.
I think Doug is saying it's just fucked up how people are willing to fuck over other humans or be so concerned with monetary or perhaps material things. Perhaps he truly does want these fuckers to kill themselves. I mean Doug is a Smiths fan and those guys didn't really give a fuck about assholes. These guys are post humans transcending reality.
