Out of all the Nightwish songs, this one, matches me the most. I have asperger's syndrome, a form of mild autism, with the main characteristics as social incompetent and direct interests. I'm like the old man, lonely on an island, I'm like on my own island, different from other people, surrounded by discrimination and hate. I'm lonely and sometimes, I have chosen death over living isolated and different, despite my attempt to be normal.
Still love it. I try to sing and play guitar to it!

The song is directly content to her being fired from Nightwish. Rather than dwelling with the scenario, Tarja chose to write and sing her own songs(like this one). She's actually telling Tuomas, the rest of Nightwish and EVERYONE that she will move on with her music career, alone. |
