"People can listen to Eurasia and, depending on your mood, they will find it funny or a complex political statement. It's subjective. Sometimes it makes me laugh....how bold and ridiculous it is. From an article in The Age newspaper: Bellamy was inspired to write it after witnessing the G20 protests taking place in London. "I saw these people dressing up in silly costumes and having quite a laugh. But at the same time, it was very serious. They were protesting about various problems happening around the world. I was struck by the wearing of funny costumes and the dancing in the street. So the song begins calling for a revolution but it's not fists in the air; it's more run into the house of parliament and do a fart or something". |
