| @[MNice:9092] I just went to a show a couple days ago and I hadn't given much thought to the meaning of this song before then, i would have to 100% agree with you on the idea that this is about their journey/success as a band. This was their closing song and i mean the tour was called "I can see the end" so it was an appropriate song to end with, but what makes me think that it's about them is before she sang her last "is this my life, am i breathing underwater" Emily Haines said, "I want to keep this moment for just a bit longer, because it's going to be gone like that" and she paused looked around the venue and said " there is goes" and continued to finish the song. So that makes me think that this song means something to them, because they are really reveling in their reality and that's very special. | |

| I feel like this is a song about commitment to another person and the desire to have everything that comes with that commitment. The wonderful thing about metric is that it could be about something else entirely but is applicable to a bunch of different things. Such a great song by such an amazing group, I cannot wait for their new album. | |

I think this is pretty self explanatory. She wants some time to figure out her life without her partner. Wants to be on her own and see what that's like. The only part that is a little unclear is when she says "the hardest part is knowing i'm happy i’m on the whole again knowing i'm happy" because maybe she's happy alone without her partner and that's hard, or it's the hardest part because she's currently happy but has to leave anyways. Whatever the case is, this song is amazing. Poliça is amazing. period. |

First let me just say, I saw them do this song live in LA, and it was like hearing music for the first time. Absolutely amazing. I think this song is about loosing someone to themselves. Like she's tired everything she could do for this other person but knows that it's not going to work because they are so wrapped up in there own issues. And she doesn't want it to be like this but she has no other choice. |
