| The Shins – Caring Is Creepy Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think it's about someone who thinks way too much, and is possibly initially very hard on himself, but realizes that some things are going to be out of his control and therefore doesn't allow himself to become depressed by keeping it out of his "remote concern". In order to be content, you can't constantly think about your mess of a life. "Hold your glass up, hold it in" Stay strong. "One day I'll be wondering how I got so old just wondering how I never got cold wearing nothing in the snow" People have treated him badly, but he's still the same person he's always been: caring, lovable, whatever it may be. Just not cold. He hasn't allowed negative parts of life to destroy him. ("Never betray the way you've always known it is") I'm not too smart or anything, but that's just what I got from it. I love this song. I can relate to my interpretation a lot. Regardless of how many times I've been hurt, physically and emotionally, I always just feel sorry for the person causing the pain and.. move on. |
