I do believe this is another song, (along with "Older I get" and "Open wounds") about Johns bad relationship with his father. Kick-ass song though, this new albums AMAZING!!!! |

Surprised no one's commented yet. Anyway, to me this song could be yet another one about abuse, but it just doesn't seem that way IMO. Due to these lines: "I've gotta live with the choices i made And I can't live with myself today" It seems more like a drunk driving accident that killed his daughter, Lucy. "Now that it's over I just wanna hold her I'd give up all the world to see that little piece of heaven looking back at me" After all the legal stuff, he is really sorry he did it; and he'd give everything to see his daughter again. I'd say it was about divorce, and custody battles, if it weren't for this: " I left a dozen roses on your grave today" And, "I'll see you in another life In heaven where we never say goodbye" Since, they both imply that Lucy has died. So sad, but a great song. |
