I think this song is clearly about a man trying to impress a girl's FAMILY or someone close to her. With every relationship you need to have someone's approval. Good or Bad. That's Who the "Dogs" and "Hounds" are. When he says "Now the dogs have had their meat..." and also when he says "I tumble like a clown...Before your baying hounds", I think he is trying to say that all of these people will never like him. All he does to try to impress these people is pointless; humiliating(as a clown). The "Meat" is like adding fuel to them disliking him even more. It's giving them something more to criticize about him. "Baying" is like the people barking like dogs, In other words the Criticism. He obviously sees all of this, but doesn't mined it much. He still continues to "supplicate" himself for the girl, doing everything he can to impress them and the girl. "When you spare a make up smile I'm instantly your biggest fan How was I to know That you practiced it beforehand?" At this point the girl has officially given up on him, but she continues to lead him on. He doesn't know that he is like a little puppet now. He repeats the second stanza at the end to symbolize the continuation of her little game. The only real part that I don't understand is "I think I'll go plug in the mains..." and it kills me. I also noticed that all of the stanzas end wit "Hand(s)" and "Mains" is in fact french for "Hands". And after reading some of the other thoughts, maybe it is suppose to infer some sort of self abuse. But honestly who knows besides Thom and the guys right??? |

| I think this song is about a guy who is falling for a girl. He has a feeling for her, But she may not notice them because he doesn't know how to tell her. "You're gonna be the one that saves me." Maybe this guy is depressed or something and he has a sixth sense telling him that she is the one that will help him forget his past. "You're my wonderwall." I think he means that she is always on his mind. Practically the only thing on is mind. That's what I think. But You Can Think Otherwise. | |

This song is more than amazing. Every time I hear "I'm feeling crossed", I instantly get the chills. lol. It's funny because I always know it's going to happen. But this song was what made me realize that the rest of the world is shit. And that all I really needed was music. It reminds me of the pain I went through after I dumped my ex-girlfriend. I went to D.C. for Christmas, and she went to L.A. Our relationship was a secret for 6 months.(She was my step-uncles girlfriend.) I kept telling her to choose one of us, and she said that she was going to leave him on Christmas. She promised me she would. But it never happened. I gave her all Christmas day to do it, but she didn't. So I had to do it for her. Believe me, it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life because I loved her with ALL MY HEART. But I just couldn't play her game anymore. She denied this ever happened when people close to us found out. Just to keep her name clean. It was the worst feeling in the world. I felt 'Crossed', lied too. To go from hear a person say they loved you just a few hours ago,(and believing them)to them denying you, it just sucks hard. I had to drive back home on Christmas morning, back to Boston. I left her via cellphone on the drive back. I played this song and listened to it once, and fell in love with it. Played it the whole way from D.C. to Boston. For the simple fact that it's absolutely right. Music is and always will be the one thing that will always be loyal and their for you. No matter what. Because we make music what ever we want it to be. None of us really know the meaning to this song, only the writer and the band knows the real meaning. We can only assume and/or make it relate to us. This song made me realize that no one is your friend. Even if they say they are. But the one thing that will always help us heal our pain is music. MUSIC=LIFE. Thank you for reading, Xx Ram42493. This song is about a lover and how this person would do anything for their lover.
