Bishop Allen – flight 180 Lyrics 16 years ago
My take on this whole thing is a classic suicide song, of course only someone as twisted as me could ccome up with that... allow me to explain.
A man is sick of his hometown and decides to take a trip to some place more exciting, and what better place to go than Rockefella. He's there just for a vacation, but he decides to hit up a party in Rockefella center, and he just so happens to find a wonderful girl who asks him to dance. She gives him the night of his life, they fall madly in love, adn he decideds to stay in Rockefella (which is why he hasn't seen his family in a while). There lives play out as all good love storys do, but because fate is a bitch, she tragically dies (pure speculation). Having no more reason to stay the man decides to buy a plane ticket home. The song is his ride home, and the accident has screwed up the man so much he can't help but think of the night he met her. All he can remember are her first word's "If you feel like dancing, Dance with me". He's so dissconnected, he can't stand it. So he pulls a Romeo & Juliet. If he can't live with the love of his life he might as well not live at all, so he kills himself, which would explain the fading music at the end of the song.
