yes Andrew Schwab wrote a song about a father raping his daughter... the lyrics have little to no relevance to rape ESPECIALLY towards a fathers own daughter. |

if you were to look at some of the more insightful posts on this page like breedloves you would stumble upon the understanding of this song. the song is about a man who has become so sick of a girl he is in a relationship with for whatever reason (cheating, her hurting him somehow) that he starts to lose compassion for her and is now controlling her through the relationship they are still in. He has become so hardened from what has happened to him that he no longer cares what happens to her as long as he can still stay content. The "get up force it to fit" line talks about after she has been completely torn down by him (because he has been "pulling the strings" in the relationship) he tells her to get up and become what he wants her to be and the life he has molded for her. |

i think you are very wrong, you are pulling lines out of the middle of the song and not taking into consideration the lines around it. I hate the face value you have somehow created and taken from his music. |

I believe this song is about a guy and his ex who is calling back and wanting him in her life again and him saying that the true love isn't there anymore that she is just doing it for false security and selfish gratification. he says that they are stronger than these false feelings and that he believes it is for the best if they stay apart. "and you neglected I called you out don't please I said we're stronger than this now" "and still you feel like the loneliness is better replaced by this I don't believe it this way"
when he says "you resurrected mistakes years past it seemed and they exist to still haunt you" he is saying the mistakes she made that ended them only haunt her now because he knows its for the better now.
"I could see it as you turned to stone still clearly I can hear you say don't leave, don't give up on me two weeks and you ran away I remember don't lie to me you couldn't see that it was not that way swear I never gave up on you" when he says these lines i believe he is bringing up the past to her, when she turned hard and cold towards him, that she has told him please don't give up on me but in two weeks time she is already gone again. she denies it and he says not to lie to him and asks how she can't see it that way. he swears he trusted her at one point and didn't want to give up on her but he won't fall for her again
"I wanted nothing but for that trust again and brick by brick you would take it You feared of phantoms and none exist but you you still saw fit to destroy it" finally he is telling her that he would love that trust again but she continues to destroy them. she feared of phantoms (him leaving her) but she was the actual phantom because she left him and by her willing choices she destroyed everything |
