Maybe its just me, but this song reminds me of Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk.

Bright Eyes – Something Vague Lyrics 16 years ago
I listened to this song after watching my boyfriend die in a hospital bed.. And it shocked me, how seemingly real the lyrics were to me. Dreams that won't go away, how "accurate" the view is.. Not being sure what you're doing this for every day.
Love Conor.

I don't think this song is actually about being horny, mostly.
I think it's about covering up the melancholiness of life by seeking out instant gratification. To liven things up.
It isn't just sex that is "like math" but the rest of life, too. And this song is a vulgar way of expressing the basic idea: Give me passion.

Jem – Flying High Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is actually about a friend of hers who passed away.

And I'm crying so hard right now, listening to it. Knowing the only boy I've ever loved has just died, and all I want is to spend one more night with him.

Modest Mouse – Little Motel Lyrics 16 years ago
My interpretation is probably pretty off of what Isaac intended, but this song means very much to me, so this is my interpretation of it.

It's not about love or death, per se. But the aspect of change and the melancholiness of it all.

We treat mishaps like sinking ships and
I know that I don't want to be out to drift

I take this to mean that we treat things as such a big deal and try to keep importance in stability and permanence, but sometimes people and perspectives change, and you have to rebuild and reorganize your priorities. Nothing is ever stable or permanent, and I think that's a vague trend that this song follows.

Before then we had made a wish
That we would be missed
If one or another just did not exist

Here's another example of conflict. You want so dearly to be missed and for someone to hold on to you if you didn't exist/died. You want to be concrete to someone and matter, but you can't ensure that you will. It's just wishful thinking that keeps us going.

I don't think it's about love or death. I think it's more about how breaking up and even death isn't something we need to fret over, because everyone moves on.

Anthony Green – She Loves Me So Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is about the disintegration of the Soviet Union. It was very successful, but sort of rutted itself out. and how, even if it is no longer one entity, all of the communists in various post-USSR countries still keep the Soviet Union in their hearts and everything they stand for.
