When interviewed by NME, Brian said "We've made a record about choosing life, and choosing to live, about stepping out of the darkness and into the light. Not necessarily turning your back on the darkness because it's there, it's essential; it's a part of who you are, but more about the choice of standing in the sunlight instead." (http://www.nme.com/news/placebo/43474) It's the whole theme of the album - embracing the darkness and all the times you were totally fucked up because they're a vital part of who you are. This song, of all on the album, reflects that for me. |
