"I can't promise forever, but I'm working on it." I have always remembered this lyric, it's just lovely. |

| Pink – Dear Mr. President (feat. Indigo Girls) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is powerful. Let me tell you about hard work Minimum wage with a baby on the way Let me tell you about hard work Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away Let me tell you about hard work Building a bed out of a cardboard box Let me tell you about hard work Hard work, hard work, you don't know nothing about hard work Hard work, hard work How do you sleep at night? How do you walk with your head held high? Dear Mr. President, you'll never take a walk with me... <3 |

| Pink – Who Knew Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song reminds me of my cousin, who passed away in April. It came on the radio not long after I recieved the bad news, and it was only then that I started to cry. Even though I'd always assumed this song was about a lover, because of the "last kiss" line, I don't look at it that way. I think of that as a kiss on the cheek goodbye. I feel like this song is about somebody who passed away. I don't know whether it is or not, but that's how it feels to me. "I'll keep you locked in my head until we meet again. And I won't forget you, my friend. What happened?" It's that last line there - "What happened?" - that makes me have to hold back tears. It's the biggest question you can ask when you loose somebody - and after that, when that last chorus kicks in, Pink sings it so powerfully... Every time, I cry. Thank you, Pink, for this truly amazing, touching, beautiful song. |

| You Me at Six – Always Attract Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I love this song. It's beautiful: the music itself is wonderful, (I'm a guitarist and this is one of my favourite songs to play), but the lyrics are beautiful too. |

| Taylor Swift – Haunted Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I thought Taylor had improved a lot from "Taylor Swift" to "Fearless"... but from "Fearless" to "Speak Now?" those two years have made her voice incredible, and this song totally shows it. | |
| Taylor Swift – Better Than Revenge Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think Taylor really let off some steam with this one, and it paid off. | |
| Taylor Swift – The Story of Us Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Also, the abrupt way she says, "The end." really makes it clear how it all suddenly finished.. to me, at least. | |
| Taylor Swift – The Story of Us Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The way she sings, "I'd tell you I miss you, but I don't know how. I've never heard silence quite this loud!" absolutely makes me beam. It's awesome. | |
| Taylor Swift – Last Kiss Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The emotion in the way Taylor sings this song is absolutely touching. She loved that guy. | |
| Taylor Swift – Jump Then Fall Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song is all about the feelings you get when you fall in love. It describes perfectly how she feels about the guy, it's just one of those cute, sweetheart songs that I can fall for myself! <3 | |
| Taylor Swift – The Other Side of the Door Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Taylor really can make some beautiful lyrics. 'I said leave, but all I really want is you to stand outside my window throwing pebbles screaming, "I'm in love with you!".' |
| Taylor Swift – Picture to Burn Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I've heard people saying stuff like, "Oh, Taylor was horrible for writing that song, it was so mean, blahblahblah!" and when I hear that I just think, Hold up, what?! Every single girl in the world has the right to blow off steam and Taylor said before an acoustic performance of this song something along the lines of: "If you're gonna hurt me, make me cry, make me angry or feel stupid or upset me at all... I'm sorry, but I'm gonna write a song about you." And I think that is so right! She uses her anger and makes it into something people can appreciate and creative, instead of doing something stupid. Go Taylor! |

| Taylor Swift – The Best Day Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is so meaningful and simple. I'm nearly fifteen and even I know that if I'm a mom some day and my child writes this sort of song for me, I'll bawl like a baby. It's so beautiful. I love the line, "I'm thirteen now and don't know how my friends could be so mean." |
| Taylor Swift – Mary's Song (Oh My My My) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this song is so sweet, because, correct me if I'm wrong, Taylor wrote this song to play at her friend Mary's wedding, didn't she? Or something along those lines. It's so nice to think that this sort of love story actually happens, too. It's that classic movie story that you never expect to happen - and yet, he does. "I'll be eighty-seven you'll be eighty-nine I'll still look at you like the stars that shine in the sky Oh, my my my my.." |
| Taylor Swift – Stay Beautiful Lyrics | 15 years ago |
To me, this song is just about a guy that a girl really likes who is leaving to "be someone" - maybe a model, from how beautiful he is, or a musician. She hopes that he'll come back, and she's sad that he's leaving but happy that he's getting his big break - and, well, he's beautiful! I love those first two lines: "Corey's eyes are like a jungle, he smiles, it's like the radio." |
| Taylor Swift – Tied Together with a Smile Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is beautiful, so raw and sweet. Full of emotion. I love it. I have two different things to say about it, as in, memories. 1 - This song always reminds me of my friend, Gemma. She's actually the prettiest girl I've ever met, and possibly the nicest person, too, but she really doesn't think she's pretty at all and it's sad. She never had boyfriends, for some reason they never saw just how much she was worth, and she acted like she was fine with that - but then, Gemma fell in love. This guy, George - her first real boyfriend, and, oh, they were so cute! And Gemma fell so heavily it was adorable. And we all thought George did, too - of course, we were all wrong. George left Gemma, and way faster than you'd have thought, (as in, less than a day. Yah, you heard meh!), he was with one of her 'best' friends. Not good, huh? And it really reminds me of her - the verse, "I guess it's true that love was all you wanted 'cause you're giving it away like it's extra change, hoping it would end up in his pocket, but he leaves you out like a penny in the rain, oh, 'cause it's not his price to pay." Gemma always acted like she was fine with not being with George, and she acted happy for her friend, but... Well, I was really close with Gemma at the time. I could tell. That was a while ago, now, but... Still! 2- Strangely, this reminds me of myself. You know your first love? The one that you really fall for? Well, I fell for a boy who had been my best friend for two years - it was really sweet, admittedly. He'd liked me since the first day he met me and I'd never seen him as more than that, but something changed and we got together. It was real sweet, but it didn't last. He broke up with me, - heck, I never found out why, and I was really upset when I found out. He couldn't even tell me himself, got my friend Holl to do it - and when she did... Well, there were tears, and I blamed myself. I remember saying, "Am I not pretty enough? Is that what it is?" A while ago Holl and I were listening to Taylor Swift's album, (We're big fans, obviously,), and she said, "Hey, remember when you and * broke up? I heard this song and it reminded me of you soo much." I thought about it and I thought, heck, I see what she means. I don't think I'm some drop-dead-gorgeous person, but I can see what she means... Wow, big comment, haha! |
| Taylor Swift – I'm Only Me When I'm with You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I always thought that too, because I think it describes a best friend or a close family member perfectly - e.g, this could have been about Abigail or her mom. - but the line "just a small town boy and girl // living in a crazy world" obviously dictates that, so I figured, it's just one of her best guy friends. Obviously, it could easily apply to a relationship. I'm in a relationship that can match this song pretty well, and I think it's a dead sweet song. Aww. |
| Taylor Swift – I'm Only Me When I'm with You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think this song applies more to a best friend relationship than a love relationship - you know, where the girl and boy are best friends and so comfortable around each other that "I'm only me when I'm with you". | |
| Taylor Swift – Fifteen Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is easy. It's about how when you're young and falling in love, you give everything for it - even if things don't work out that well. It shows how you're trusting and all you want is to give your everything, though sometimes it doesn't work out well. I wasn't going to inerpret the actual lyrics, but there is just one thing I wanna say:- The part about, "Abigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed his mind, we both cried." I think that means Abigail was so crazy about a boy she gave everything - by everything meaning her virginity, - and he changed his mind. He didn't want her anymore. And that upset Abigail, and it upset Taylor - because it upset Abigail and maybe because she was angry. I'm doing a project in my Ex. Arts class at school and this is the song we're doing. It describes your first year of high school really well. This is why we all love Taylor so much - she speaks out the truth about life. I love it. |
| Taylor Swift – Crazier Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I just think this song shows what it's like when you meet some one, and you're falling in love. It's a lovely song with some beautiful lyrics. Taylor is incredibly talented. <3 | |
| Taylor Swift – Change Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is so wonderful, I love it, and I though it can relate to Life, I always think of it as a song about two best friends trying to make it through high school, having to face bitchy girls and boy problems, and they've finally decided to fight against them. It makes sense really, doesn't it? It's the kind of song that can help people through rough times. I'll break it down the way I think of it. I'll talk about bitchy girls in here a lot, because that's mainly the way I think of it. And it's a sad picture The final blow hits you Somebody else gets What you wanted again (I usually think of this being that the nice girl has liked a guy for a long time, and the bitchy girl gets him, or something similar to that. It could be something more competitive - a place on the cheerleading squad? Anything. She gets the car she likes, she gets the new purse she likes, she does anything... and it's not for the first time. It's always the same, and she's tired of it.) You know it's all the same Another time and place Repeating history And you're getting sick of it (It's always the same way - other people always getting what you want. I think that the girl-she-hates-getting-the-guy-she-likes applies well to this point, because some girls really have bad luck with that, and it could just be the bitchy girl getting something she wants in general - some people have bad luck with that, too.) But I believe in whatever you do And I'll do anything to see it through (This talks about the strength of frienship. She believes in her best friend and she'll stand by her no matter what.) Because these things will change Can you feel it now? These walls that they put up To hold us back Will fall down It's a revolution The time will come for us to finally win We'll sing hallelujah We'll sing hallelujah, oh (The chorus is pretty self-explanitory, really. "These walls that they put up to hold us back" could apply to how the plastic-bitchy girls always try and put down the nice girls like Taylor and how it's not gonna happen anymore, how they're gonna stand up for themselves. "The time will come for us to finally win" - self-explanitory, again. They're tired of loosing, being put down and looking stupid and feeling stupid - the time will come for them to finally win. And when that time comes, they'll sing Hallelujah, (dictionary def. - a shout of joy, praise, or gratitude.), because they're just so glad that the arguing and everything with the bitchy girls is over.) So we've been outnumbered Raided and now cornered It's hard to fight When the fight ain't fair (This is the typical scenario where the big group of populars embarress or make fun of the two friends. It's seen in all the movies, and it happens in real life all the time. They gang up on them and they feel outnumbered and cornered - the fight isn't fair!) We're getting stronger now From things they never found They might be bigger But we're faster and never scared ("From things they never found" could apply to happiness and friendship. They don't know what friendship and caring about people is really like because they're so obsessed with themselves and their popularity, but Taylor and her friend know what it's like and they've found strength in their friendship. "They might be bigger" could simply apply to the fact there are more of them and they have a bigger group, ect, but Taylor and her friend know they aren't scared of them, ect.) You can walk away Say we don't need this But there's something in your eyes Says we can beat this (Simple. They can walk away and act like it doesn't bother them like they always have been, doing the typical ignoring thing, but now they're sick of it and they know they can beat them now.) 'Cause these things will change Can you feel it now? These walls that they put up To hold us back Will fall down It's a revolution The time will come for us to finally win We'll sing hallelujah We'll sing hallelujah, oh Tonight we'll stand and get off our knees Fight for what we've worked for All these years (They've been "bullied", to say, by the populars for so long and they've gradually been finding the strength to stand up for themselves and now it's time.) The battle was long It was the fight of our lives But we'll stand up, champions tonight (It's been a long time and now they're standing up, feeling like champions because they know they can do it.) It was the night things changed (This line is my favourite in the whole song. I don't know why, I think it's because it shows you that they did it, they stood up for themselves...) Can you see it now? The walls that they put up To hold us back Fell down (...and they won. "Fell down" = it's gone, we beat them, we did it.) It's a revolution Throw your hands up 'Cause we never gave in We'll sing hallelujah We sang hallelujah Hallelujah It's a beautiful song with an incredible meaning! |

| Avril Lavigne – Get Over It Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I hate to be the annoying person who relates this to Twilight, but does nobody think this song fits in with Bella and Jacob perfectly? When I was feeling down You'd start to hang around And then I found your hands all over me And that was out of bounds You filthy rotten hound It's better than it sounds, believe me I mean, come on! |

| Leona Lewis – I See You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Another flawless recording by Leona, and a song with true meaning that I think she shares emotion with. I always imagine this song connecting with the movie directly, though it can be seen on a deeper level, too. For example, it coculd be the kind of song that connects with the "forbidden love" category; you can imagine it being the background music in a scene where the poor boy introduces the princess to the reality of the real world, and she loves it. Or, it could just be a song that expresses the fact that by falling in love, everything is more beautiful. |

| Linkin Park – Numb Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I always imagined this song was written about parents who dissaprove, or people, say at school, who think you don't meet their expectations and you're tired of trying to be what they want. | |
| Jesse McCartney – She's No You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is wonderful because of the message it gives. It basically says that the most beautiful, talented, sexy, clever, everything-in-the-world-that-a-guy-could-want girl in the world could want him, but he'd never want her back because she isn't the girl that he has already, who he loves. | |

| Evanescence – Hello Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The song is about her sister who unfortunatly died as a child. I think the meaning of the lyrics just came to me. Litterally. What I have written bellow is what I imagine the composer's smind was like in the state of writng. It is very unfortunate. Playground schoolbell rings, again Rainclouds come to play, again Has no one told you she's not breathing ? - The schoolgrounds are carrying on as normal, people are going to school. The rain falls, as the weather carys on in a dim state. Why is it all carrying on as normal? Has nobody told you she's not breathing? Hello, I'm your mind, giving you someone to talk to... Hello... If I smile and don't believe Soon I know I'll wake from this dream -I understand, talk to me. I'll be your mind. Hello, are you there? If I smile and don't believe that smile, I know I'll wake up from this dream. Because if I'm believing the bad things, clearly this is just a dream. Isn't it? Don't try to fix me I'm not broken Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide... Don't cry... - Leave me alone, stop asking if I'm okay. Of course I'm okay, I have no reason not to be. I'm living a lie so you can hide away. Don't cry, I'm here... It's only a dream... Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping Hello, I'm still here, all that's left Of yesterday.. - Suddenly I know I'm awake and I realize that this isn't a dream. I'm still here, but I'm all thats left of yesterday, because you're not here... |

| Bethany Dillon – Beautiful Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think every girl will go through this. They just want people to say that they are worthy, and they believe being beautiful is the way to make this work. "Fighting to make the mirror happy." Such an intense line, and this song isn't very famous so it isn't heard and appreciated like it should be. But this song is absolutely amazing, thank you Bethany. |

| Taylor Swift – Hey Stephen Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"The way you walk, way you talk, way you say my name. It's beautiful, wonderful, don't you ever change." - so cute! But, the best lines of the whole song are; "Hey Stephen, boy you might have me believeing I don't always have to be alone..." "Hey Stephen, why are people always leaving? I think you and I should stay the same..." "Hey Stephen, I could give you 50 reasons why I should be the one you choose. All those other girls? Well, they're beautiful, but would they write a song for you?.." |
| Katy Perry – Thinking of You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think this song is about cheating, although the video that is released in the U.K - not sure if it is different for U.S and other places? - tells a different story. But to me it's about how either she is in a stabel relationship she doesn't want to leave but has fallen for and cheated for somebody who to her is perfect, and everytime she is with the ''stabel'' guy, she thinks of the perfect one. Visa versa. |

| "When all you wanted was to be wanted." -<3 | |
| Taylor Swift – Fifteen Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is about life at fifteen, it really is that simple. Taylor is such a favourited artist because she talks about things her listeners - teenage girls, mainly. - will relate to. And what more would teenage girls relate to than "Fifteen"? I think Taylor should make this her next single to release with a video - it'd be so loved. | |

| Paramore – Fences Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Rated +1 Personally I feel that Hayley's taking on "Young Hollywood". (For example, Lindsay, Paris & Nicole.) - "i'm sitting in a room. made up only big white walls and in the hall there are people looking through the window in the door. they know exactly what we're hear for. don't look up just let them think there's no place else you'd rather be." : First, Hayley's putting herself in young Hollywood's position. The room, could be in a rehab facility or a jail cell. Because the celebrities today pop in and out of rehab and jail as often as they change their underwear. But I digress. They go to rehab and jail like it's nothing but everyone knows their business. But the celebrity has to keep smiling, like everything's okay. - "you're always on display. for everyone to watch and learn from. don't you know by now that you can't turn back? because this road is all you'll ever have." : On display, means the fact that these stars are being followed all the time by the "paps" and they get thrown around these magazines. They can't turn back because they get so absorbed by the Hollywood Lifestyle and their going to keep making the same mistakes. - "and it's obvious that you're dying, dying. just living proof that the camera's lying. and open wide, 'cause this is your night. so smile, 'cause you'll go out in style." : These celebrities are trying to pretend that their okay, when they aren't. And you see them in the tabloids all the time, "happy" as can be, when inside they hate themselves. Hayley's saying with the "you'll go out in style" is pretty self-explanitory. - " if you let me i could, i'd show you how to build your fences, set restrictions, seperate from the world. the constant battle that you hate to fight. just blame the limelight." : Hayley's pretty much saying that if more people would be like her, keeping her private life private, not partying every single night, they would learn. And they should stop getting pissed when the "paps" follow them around, because they're pretty much asking for it. - "you're asking for it. with every breath that you breath in, just breath in. you're just a mess. you do all this big talk. so now let's see you walk it. i said let's see you walk it." : She's saying that they all are fake, and in the end they need to face the truth. -lindsey =-----------------------------------------------= I think you just nailed it! |

| Taylor Swift – Change Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song helped me through some rough times - thankfully I always had my very best friend in those times too. I owe her alot! This song is about LIFE. People get what you want and you hate it, right? It gets you down sometimes. It's all the same, it's happened before - repeating history and your getting sick of it! But you and your friends know that things will change. It wont always be this way. People have turned against you, and yeah, it isn't great, but you know you can beat this. Things will change, you can feel it. The walls that they built up to block you out of the world, you knock them down. It's a revolution. And it feels amazing. You know its coming. All the bad stuff you've had to go through will be 'forgotten' and you'll be able to be free. |

| JoJo – Coming For You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I don't understand JoJo's meaning but I came up with one I think fits (and lived through, really.) So, this girl likes a guy who she's turned down so many times before. And now she's changed her mind, had a change of heart, and she's going to tell him all the feelings she was hiding. She can't take it anymore, she doesn't want to let him go. She wants to be his. And she believes that he's a really nice guy and that she doesn't deserve him but there's no other way - she wants to be his. |
| Miley Cyrus – The Climb Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song describes Miley perfectly, I think. But it also describes alot of young girls, including myself. You have a dream and you can see it, but people are thinking you can't achieve it. With every step you take you're lost, you don't know how to achieve your dream, and you start to loose your belief in yourself. But, you have to keep trying and keep your head held high, against what others say, because there's always going to be something getting in your way and you're gonna want to move it, and it'll be a battle and yeah, sometimes you will loose. But it isn't about how quickly you get to your goals - it's how you get there. Your choices. |
| Jordan Pruitt – Outside Looking In Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The reason I think this may be because I discovered this song while I was going through an extremly rough time at school with friends, but I believe the song goes along the lines of this. People have been talking behind her back. And, she hasn't done anything. She just wants to be friends with people, get along and fit in. And people think that whatever they say she won't hear about, but she does - word travels fast. These people don't know how it feels - they're too perfect, right? - and she feels like she has no friends except herself. If those people could read her mind they might realize she has a heart of gold, and that she really just wants to get along. But they won't give her a chance. She's not going out - how can she? People who don't like her are out. She gets bored and feels lonely, she's just waisting time. But nobody understands and she just wants it to be easier. |
| Miley Cyrus – 7 Things Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Before I get onto the meaning of the song I'll just say - yes, this song does seem like it could have been written for Nick Jonas. I personally believe they were dating, but bare in mind they may not have been. Nonetheless, just because this song was released during that time period everyne went all Niley, this song could have been written by anyone. Taylor Swift has a song called The Outisde on her first album that she wrote when she was about 13, and she released that a year or so ago. So really, we don't know how old the song actually is. It could be about any guy. And now to the song itself - I love this song. It's so beautiful because the message is basically "I see your faults, but I love you despite of that." which is a brilliant message to send out, especially through song, seen as we have alot of songs about perfection lately. |
| Taylor Swift – Breathe Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song does sound alot like a relationship, but personally I see it as a loss of friendship. You know holding a friendship up is never simple, never easy. And you know friends like the back of your hand. You feel like you can't breathe without them, but sometimes people go and you have to. Perhaps Taylor made a mistake - "sorry, sorry, sorry..." or she was apologizing that it came to this awful end. It's always a tradgedy to loose a friend, especially a good one. At times I have been able to relate to this song very much. |

| Vanessa Carlton – Twilight Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I see lots of ways this could work to the meaning of this song. Perhaps she had had alot of bad experience with men, or didn't really feel as particularly strongly as she could have in relationships - "never cared, never wanted." - and somebody came into her life who changed all that. Perhaps she had been in a serious relationship with a guy who treated her wrong, and she believed she couldn't trust a man again, but a new man has come into her life and showed her that this isn't what all guys are like, and she can perhaps learn to trust again and forgive - "i will learn to say goodbye to yesterday." Also, this song could be that her life was simple, lets say, and somebody - man or woman, - showed her that life isn't boring, and that it can be exiting. Maybe this song is based on her stardomn, and how she was "stained with a role, in all day." and then she landed a record contract and saw the world with a different sight, and now she looks at things differently. |
