I think this song is about two lovers that can't be in love because of the pain they have been through in the past. They both need each other to stay strong and alive, but still can't fall in love. When they try to open up to each other they just realize that they are broken and shut their heart afraid of falling and being hurt again. I am currently experiencing this right now. I am in love with the most amazing woman in the world and I would do anything for her, but she seems so far away. She tells me I am the most amazing man and that we would be perfect together but she feels as if she is broken and she feels as if she isn't good enough for me, and that I will find someone better then her. We recently broke up but are still really close friends that are there for each other, but she feels as if she had to break up with me to find herself.
