Another thing that really makes me think this is about Children is this line. "With eyes so dilated, I've become your pupil You've taught me everything Without a poison apple" This make me think of the child looking to the parent as a teacher and the child is the student (pupil). Also "poison apple" I feel is in reference to a very common Childs tail snow white...(not to mention Kurts only baby was a girl also) |

I don't think this song has anything to do with drugs. I do think it's about Children and the effects of having one at a young age. Based on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drain_You "When Kurt was questioned about the song {Drain You} he said he had made a lot of it up on the spot but that the first line... was particularly important to the interpretation of the song..." And the use of children's toys in part of the song... "Some of the strange noises during the middle section of the song are caused by children's toys Cobain brought into the studio." I feel these 2 things are clear indications of this songs meaning... But no one really knows for sure since Kurt took it to his grave. I love this song! |
